The ‘Parent and Toddlers’ mornings at Moray Steiner School support families with young children by providing a “home from home “ environment that nurtures both adult and child.

Parenting is one of the most important jobs in the world and we aim to help parents value themselves and support them in what they are doing.  In meeting together, parents can share their experiences and learn new skills.

Each morning follows a similar structure enabling the children become familiar with the rhythms and routines and feel secure within them.

The session usually starts with bread-baking, followed by a craft-activity and free-play. We have circle time where parents and children sing seasonal songs and verses often accompanied with movement. Our snack is a time to honour the ritual of sitting around a shared table, hands are washed, a candle lit, a blessing said. There is also time for outside, playing, exploring and experiencing the changing seasons together.

The Parent and Toddler operates on a drop-in basis once a week and on a committed basis twice a week. The group, lead by an experienced Kindergarten teacher, provides a gentle and supportive introduction into our School, giving parents the opportunity to explore and experience our philosophy for themselves, within an intimate and nurturing environment.
