The Jaguar E-Type and Its Influence on Modern Sports Car Design
That’s why Jaguar decided to get into the restoration and restomod game itself with its ‘E-Type Reborn’ project. This involves sourcing Series 1 E-Types that may have had a hard life and then bringing them back to their former glory.

This isn’t your typical ‘restomod’ though, as the cars are being built using parts from original production Jaguar prototypes (Car Zero). That means all of the build processes and assembly procedures were initially tested and proven on these original examples. They look the part too, with their distinctive flat floor – not so much because owners were known to push the accelerator pedal right to the metal but rather because this was the optimum layout for handling and fuel economy.
